Who We Are
3D Printer Nerd is run by a small team of 3D printing operators who have collectively logged over 15,000 print hours across FDM and resin machines. We run Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Elegoo, and Anycubic printers daily — not in a review lab, but in a working print farm and prototyping workshop where failed prints cost real time and material.
We started this site because we got tired of searching for answers and finding:
- Guides that list every possible cause without telling you which one is most likely
- Reviews that read like they were written from a spec sheet, not from actual use
- Troubleshooting advice that says “adjust your retraction settings” without giving you the numbers
- Affiliate sites that recommend whatever has the highest commission
We write the guides we wish we’d found at 2 a.m. with a failed print and a deadline.
How We Work
Every guide is based on hands-on experience or community-verified data. When we haven’t tested something ourselves — a specific filament brand, a niche upgrade, a rare failure mode — we say so and cite the source. We don’t fabricate testing claims.
We update content when things change. Firmware updates, new printer models, discontinued filaments — if it affects the advice, we revise the article. Each page shows its last-updated date.
We tell you who should skip a product. Our buyer’s guides include explicit “Skip If” sections because the right printer for one person is the wrong printer for another. We’d rather you buy the right machine later than the wrong machine now.
We correct errors. If you find a mistake — a wrong temperature range, an outdated spec, a fix that doesn’t work — tell us. We’ll verify and update the article, and we’ll credit you if you want.
